Directory Series – Hornby 0 Gauge Style Loco & Tender SR Schools class ‘Berkhamsted’ No.930, 12 volt DC electric –  This Loco was produced by Bernard Ridgley as a replica of the Schools class Loco produced by Hornby with an alternative name and with the Ray Cooper 12 volt 3- rail mech. Hornby range were  produced from 1937 until production ceased for the war effort in 1939/40 but was only with the one name No.900 ‘ETON’. This example was built, painted and lined by Bernard to an exceptional standard.  The number 940 Berkhamsted was never locomotive in the schools class as the last one was number 939 ‘Leatherhead’. The mech has been checked and in full working order so a great opportunity to add this loco to you SR stud of Locomotives as an alternative name and number to the standard Eton.
